Okay...I know I'm not supposed to be doing this....

That is NOT a gar. That is a needle nose fish, needle fish, etc. It's not even related to gars.

While gar do look like that, they are very different.

Google gar or gar pike.

RETARD!

no offense...

NO...YOU, sir, are wrong...

Another name for bats are flying rats. But, in fact, bats are not rats, they are bat.

Sea cows, also known as manatees, are now cows.

Green anoles, also called chameleons, are not chameleons, in fact, they are much more closly related to iguanas.

As you can see, just because they have it in their name, doesn't mean that they are other stuff.

Do you know what else looks like a gar? Halfbeaks, a livebearer from asia, but are they a gar? no. Also, needlefish, like the one posted above, but also native to saltwater habitats from around the world also look like gar, but are they gar? nope.

Another thing...Pacus, a large fish from the amazon amd pirahanas, are actually tetras, but the word, tetra, isn't in their name, so does that mean that they aren't tetras?

How old are you? Can you honestly think that just because it's in their name, means that that is what it really is? This is why I'm having such a hard time staying away from this site...because you people are so uneducated.

I agree with andrew.

I asked an expert what that fish was, and he said a needlenose. It is not a gar.
